THE CANOPY OF THE PRIMARY WET TROPICAL FOREST REPRESENTS THE BIGGEST BIOLOGICAL RESOURCE OF THE PLANET, AND ALSO THE LEAST KNOWN. ITS SCIENTIFIC EXPLORATION IS DEEMED URGENT GIVEN THE CURRENT RATE OF TROPICAL DEFORESTATION. THE "RADEAU DES CIMES" BRINGS AN ORIGINAL TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTION TO THAT CHALLENGE. FROM JULY TO OCTOBER 1989, MORE THAN 50 SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH WORKERS REPRESENTING 11 NATIONS ARE GOING TO ENTER UPON THE FIRST MULTIDISCIPLINARY STUDY ON THE AMAZONIAN CANOPY (BRAZIL, PERU). THE HELP OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY COMMISSION IS NEEDED IN ORDER TO BRING THAT PROJECT TO A SUCCESSFUL ISSUE.
