ISOLATED PV PLANT IN LLABERIA (SPAIN)

Objective

The purpose of this project is to show the great technical and economical progress made by small scale centralised photovoltaic system which are now capable to support electric power with the same quality and service guarantee as a conventional power source. The project plans to provide a complete power supply system with 18 Kwp to meet the home wiring, street lighting and water pumping needs of a village of 47 houses. With a new strategy of energy management in this project, typical problems and mistakes of system break downs will be avoided. Furthermore, the proven good operation of this system will contribute to a larger dissemination and consolidation of PV products on the market.

Innovative in this project is the necessary power and load management system. This enables an optimal and priority dependent utilisation of the power and leads to a drasticall reduction of load peaks. The essential feature of this new power management system is the use of one decentral controller unit in front of each house. This intelligent decentral controller unit controls the maximum energy of each house, depending from available energy production. The necessary information about the energy priority level from a central energy controller unit (located at the central station) is transmitted through the 230 V grid to the single houses. Additionally there will be a user display installed in each house, which gives information and help for using the electrical appliances as well as a status on available power and energy. The data acquisition system and the possibility of working with a modem will facilitate, to a large extent, the maintenance and repair time in case of any failures and greatly improve the reliability of the photovoltaic system.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
