Objective
In the belgian climate, the heating load contributes for a big part to the yearly costs of industrial and tertiary buildings.
The heating load is linked to the quality of fabric and to the relative abondance of natural solar gains inside the building.
"Bioclimatic Architecture" tends to integrate these two factors in a optimal conception in order to minimize the thermal load and the financial burder as well.
Following features are realized:
1) Direct utilization of the incident solar radiation to reduce the heating needs and to maximise the free gains without the risk of summer overheating, by south oriented sheds in the roof.
2) An attached sunspace at the south wall.
The project is applied on an industrial building (about 10000 m2) partly used as offices and partly as storage. The first solar provision consist of south oriented solar sheds integrated in the roof. The south glazing part is inclined 72 deg. C in direction east-west. The opaque part is perpendicular to the glazing part.
The deepness of the greenhouse is such that no direct sunshine enters the buildings when the sundirection is to high (summer). These sheds have about 500 m2 glazing surface.
The second solar feature consists of a sun space attached to the south wall of the building.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
