Objective
To provide electricity to 20 isolated, permanently occupied farm houses by means of small pv and pv/wind generators.
20 farm houses in isolated regions of the Catalan Pyrenees are electrified by small, autonomous pv and wind systems. The size of the installations varies between 240 and 5640 peak Watts. All systems are equipped with battery storage for 4 to 5 days autonomy. Five wind generators (250, 300, 1000 W), twelve Diesel generators (500 to 15000 W) and one hydro generator (1000 W) are installed as well. Inverters to 220 V ac are foreseen in most houses. Nr. of subsystems : 18 (first phase) + 2 (second phase)
Power of subsystems : 4x240+ 7x480+ 3x720+ 3x960+ 1x5640 (first phase) + 282 + 564 (second phase)
Total power : : 15846 Wp
Backup : Diesel, Wind, Hydro.
Number of modules : 420
Module description : ISOFOTON, 1222 x 328 mm, 40 W, type M401
monocristalline Connection : 2 in series
Support : on walls, on racks and on towers
Max power tracker: none
Charge controller : ATERSA MP-60 and type -H for the hybrid installations
Battery : TUDOR, type TSE 50, TSE 70 and TSE 80
Batt. (V) : 24 (120 V for the 5 kW system)
Capacity (Ah) : 462 to 1240 Ah (10 h), 868 Ah for the 5 kW system
Inverter : SUNPOWER, 10kVA (sinusoidal), LS-Solarelektronik (1.2 and 2.4 kVA) and Victron, 2 kVA (square).
Load description : Household appliances (refrigerators etc.) through 220 V inverters
Monitoring : One system has full analytical monitoring. (Data measured every minute, stored as hourly averages). In 13 systems "DATASOL" monitoring is installed and four other ones just have mechanical amperehour meters.
