DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF A 1 MW PV POWER PLANT IN SPAIN

Objective

A 1 MW pv power plant complements a 77 MW hydroelectric power plant, thereby reducing its water consumption. The annual pv energy produced (1.5 GWh/y) is of the order of 1% of the annual hydropower production (135 GWh/y).
Operational performance of large PV systems connected to weak grid. Input of the tracking system to the EUCLIDES project (SE./0064/96/ES/UK).
Design and install. of a 1 MWp grid connected PV plant. The plant is complementing an existing hydroelectric station. Innovation is claimed for the link to the hydroelectric plant. To allow maximum power extraction from the pv plant, the power output of the hydroelectric plant is reduced when sun is available. The amount of the annually produced hydroelecity is not limited by the peak power of the installed generators but by the quantity of water, hence pv contribution is economical. The use of large modules, modular PV building blocks, and optimised array support structures are other innovative features.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
