Objective

To install active and passive solar and energy conservation systems during modernization of a hotel. To reduce conventional fuel consumption for space heating and hot water, yielding annual energy savings of +- 170,000 kWh.

The central courtyard is covered by glazing of 130 m2. Serving as a greenhouse in winter and passive air conditioning element in summer. Additionally, there is an area of solar panels (15 m2 evacuated tube collectors) on the south-facing part of the roof facing the courtyard.
