Objective
Reduction of 14,5% of energy consumption with regard to the same building but without the active technology which will be implemented.
The project lies in the installation of 500 m2 of flat water solar collectors, which are made of copper for heating system and domestic hot water, together with a serie of heat storage, in a offices building of new construction and with an hybrid solar design.
These collectors will be placed with an inclination of 55 degrees in order to optimize their operation in winter. It has available a tank of water for heat storage (60 m2) and also a modular boiler which operates with natural gas in order to complement the active solar system.
The system is not provided with heat exchanger, it is due to the installation of 500 m2 of copper collector it is not rusted when is emptied and the temperature outside is lower than 0 deg. C, this fact produces an important increase of efficiency and the advantage of not having to add periodically antifreeze.
The system of heat emission and distribution of the heating system is carried out by means of radiant floor which optimizes the global energy efficiency of the project.
This system, operating at low temperature, is well suited for the combined use of water solar collectors and gas heaters.
The backup heating system is made up of two boilers of natural gas, modularly, dimensioned to attend 100% of the heating system requirements of the coolest winter day. These boilers possess a power of 2,7 x 100000 kcal/hr and 1,3 x 1000000 kcal/hr respectively.
As for the lighting, the overall energy consumption value to lighting this kind of building is estimated in 18 w/m2 operating 5 hours a day, that's why, in accordance with the calculations of radiation consumption throughout the year, it is expected that the natural daylighting take care of more than 50% of this value.
Moreover, it is evaluated a contribution of 4,8 W/m2 of internal capture due to the people and the machinery. This way, it will be achieved a reduction of energy consumption of 14,5% over the expected consumption in the same building which does not possess the active thermic solar energy that will be implemented in this project.
The building is made up of two wings facing south and south-east respectively, including three storays used for administrative work, a half-buried floor for commercial use and two underground parking platforms. All of it constitutes a total surface area of 11.078 m2.
