Objective
Since the area required for photovoltaic plants is relatively high, an access to existing adequate areas in the densely populated European regions is needed. The combination of the OPTISOL PV module technology with the newest state-of-the-art of special insulating glasses into a double glazing PV unit will result in a solar facade technology with optimized passive indoor climatization features. The basic aim of this project is to set new standards in :
- photovoltaic facade and building integrations
- an optimization of the facade's passive indoor climate regulation ability using
- newest glass insulation technologies
- and thus an improvement of the buildings energy balance
- architectural aesthetics.
The PV generator is working as expected. Since the commissioning is not yet terminated, measured results are not yet documented.
The new headquarter building of BUNDESVERBAND consists of a large glass facade building segment which represents more than 35% of the overall building. The facade is divided into 3 different architectural facade concepts comprising :
- an inclined infront building part ( wintergarden)
- a vertical facade front
- an overhead glass roofing
There are 18 different module types including, with a total number of 182 modules covering an area of 400 m². The installed solar power is 28.5 kWP. The polycristalline cells with the dimension 125 by 125 mm are fabricated by Eurosolare. The PV plant is connected to the grid by means of an master/slave inverter configuration consisting of four 5 kW inverter units from SMA Regeltechnik.
