PV/DIESEL HYBRID SYSTEM FOR HIGH ALTITUDE RADIOTELEPHONE

Objective

Provide economic and reliable electric power (1800 W) for a high altitude radio emitter and radio telephone link.

On the top of the Mont Sistron mountain (2610 m) in the Tinee valley a new radio transmitter and radio telephone relais are installed. The power requirement of 1800 W, constant throughout the year, is met by a 7.6 kWp PV system and by a 16 kW (at 2600 m height only 12 kW) Diesel generator (HENNEQUIN, FRANCE). Basic energy supply is by the pv generator (85%), the Diesel generator shall cover the peak and emergency electricity supply (20 starts per year, 250 hours operation, 1250l/year fuel consumption). A data monitoring system (SADO), designed by CNET is available. Special lightning protection is installed.
Alarms and monitoring data are transmitted by radio-telephone to the central control station : intervention is possible within 48 hours (by helicopter).

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
