GRID-CONNECTED PV ROOFS DISPERSED APPLICATION

Objective

The project consists in the design and installation of photovoltaic plants located on buildings roof, connected to the low voltage grid by means of inverters equipped with MPPT system. It will allow to evaluate the costs of design, installation, maintenance and the level of reliability of small scale PV roofs application connected to the LV electric grid. This will contribute to better define standards in the field of renewable energy, promote the diffusion of similar projects reducing the dependence form traditional source (fossil fuel) and develop the widespread electric energy generation.

The project is an application of self-production of electric energy by renewable source, to satisfy internal consumption and to feed the energy surplus into the Electric Utility. Twelve photovoltaic plants will be installed on the roof of buildings of ENEL's property. Each plant will be 3 kWp rated, for a total installed gross power of about 38.4 kWp; the link to the low voltage electric grid will be made by means of a self-commutated inverters with MPPT system. The estimated net energy production is about 60000 kWh/y with respect to a yearly mean irradiance of 4.76 kWh/m²/day; the estimated cost of energy is about 0.5 ECU/kWh. A two years-long monitoring campaign will be started up for the acquisition of the main data as energy on DC and AC side and irradiance on the PV plane.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
