Resultado final

The project has led to the development and validation of the following diagnostics techniques based on laser technology: -Scanning laser Doppler vibrometry and remote excitation systems, SLDV, University of Ancona. -Holographic interferometry (ARTT). -ESPI (ARTT). -Shearography (ARTT). -Infrared reflectography (ARTT). -Photorefractive crystals (ARTT). Out of these six proposals evolved two fully portable diagnostics systems that appear to offer optimal performance for applications to artworks and therefore represent exploitable results: -SLDV system. -Mixed speckle/holographic system based on a pulsed laser. Each measurement system has been equipped with innovative software packages for data analysis and processing. The proposed techniques have demonstrated their capabilities and met the targets set at the beginning of the project, both in the laboratory on selected samples and in extensive on field tests. Moreover, measurements systems have been used in adverse climatic and operational situations, always giving correct defects mapping. This confirms the use of laser diagnostics systems and techniques as a truly portable technology that can be profitably employed both in enclosed environments, i.e. museums, and in the open field, i.e. inspection of painted external walls of historical buildings.
