Objective
The technical objectives are:
1. To elaborate and quantify adequate comparability parameters and correction procedures which interfere in the three radiometric methods A, B and C for determining the radiant efficiency of radiant heaters.
2. Specific research shall be undertaken on following error sources:
-calibration of the sensors
-sampling measurement points
-calculation procedure
-test conditions including conditions of the test room
-repeatability of results
3. To validate the requirement regarding the performance and the periodical control of the measurement equipment.
4. Regarding the sources of uncertainty the study will consist in:
-evaluate quantitativly the error of each source of uncertainty. This shall done by assessing existing knowledge (literature, bibliography...); in case the evaluable error information is insufficient than the error shall be experimentally quantified.
-Proposal: either a method for correcting test results in order to eliminate the influence of the perturbing parameters, or/and provide for appropriate test procedure.
In the latter case, the proposed solution shall be compatibel with type testing of appliances and shall not involve exaggerate expenses for the necessary equipment.
Four partnerswork together in a consortium, each partner is a national laboratory, which is an expert in investigations onthe performance of gas appliances.
The results will contribute to amend EN standards regarding gas-fired radiant heaters.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
