Objective
To develop a 1024 channel seismic streamer and computer controlled seismic data acquisition system. data acquisition system is located within the streamer and communication of the data with the seismic vessel is obtained through a high-speed telemetry system.
The full definition of all the packages in the nodes has been completed. This means data acquisition unit, telemetry control unit and power supply unit. The telemetry system has been designed. All physical units are of a standard construction. The acoustic sections, isolators, tail unit and tow cable have been studied and specified.
The phases of the development program are the following :
1. Design and feasibility study
2. Electronic development and acoustic trials
3. Development production and testing of half-length 512 channel streamer and computer system
4. Development, production and testing of full 1024 channel streamer and computer system
5. Production evaluation and use of full system in seismic surveys.
In the frame of the project TH 01031/83 only phases 1,2 and partially phase 3 were supported. The remaining part of the phase 3 is supported under the project TH 01041/84.
