Objective
Development of a subsea hydrocarbon production system designed for deep water application. Modular approach for surface maintenance and for diverless guidelineless procedures leads to an original architectural concept.
The concept was proposed to oil companies. Considered as very attractive for future deep water or marginal field developments, the proposed technology was, however, not deemed economically applicable for present diver-accessible offshore fields.
The project proposes a complete system for hydrocarbon production in deep water: subsea wellheads, flowlines, manifold and riser base manifold are considered as well as connecting and handling tools.
The study presents a central manifold gathering the production of eight tfl-serviced satellite wells. Active equipment, subject to possible failures (valves, mechanisms, control equipment), is enclosed in standardized, compact and retrievable wet modules. The project scope of work included feasibility and detailed studies. Some key components - flowline connectors, flowline pulling-in subsea winch - were to be manufactured and tested.
