Objectif The aim of the MA-RE (Maintenance and Retrieval Equipment) Project is to develop and demonstrate a diverless, guidelineless intervention system, adaptable to any number of projects and capable of operation in water depths down to 1000 metres, which can install, retrieve and maintain both components and modules (up to 250 tonnes weight in air) associated with oil and gas related subsea well head and processing facilities. The project consists of three phases, as follows:Phase 1 System Identification and Conceptual DesignPhase 2 Detailed Engineering and CostingsPhase 3 Demonstration of SystemsThe final report of the stage 1 work is about to be released. The modularisation philosophy adopted by the Goodfellow Associates Subsea Processing (GA-SP) Project is premised on diverless intervention, vertical access, single column datum connection of modular assemblies or insert components and their maintenance by replacement. MA-RE project is intended to develop and demonstrate suitable interface equipment and procedures, covering launch and recover and subsea work, as well as identify suitable vessel types. Key programme elements include intervention work scheduling and the refinement of operating cost estimates.
