Objective
This project had three objectives:
1) laboratory experiments to determine the factors involved in the action of DC current on rock samples saturated with water and oil
2) general technological studies (surface and wells)
3) feasibility studies of a pilot test on Eschau field (Alsace).
This work showed the technical feasibility ot the process and outlined solutions for the method and equipment to be used. However, to go to the next step of realizing a pilot test would require a considerable extention of technical studies to achieve detailed specifications of equipment.
Laboratory tests were made with Fontainebleau sandstones and Eschau Limestones.
Technological preliminary studies included:
- heating effects of current in the well
- well equipment:
study of different solutions for current transport the Anode technology well completion - surface equipment:
current generator/protection equipment. Modelling of Eschau field (hydraulic/electrical) were made. Site studies on Eschau were made.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
