Objective
The aim is to define and design a one atmosphere work habitat to carry out repairs on pipelines, bundles and umbilicals where hyperbaric repair by diver is impossible.
Design has been based on a solutions already adopted for the communication and power cable. Two main technical problems have been individualised : sealing technique and handling system. A preliminary economic analysis has shown the advantage of subsea repair of bundles and embilicals against the alternative of relaying them.
The purpose of the habitat is to provide an environment in which technicians can work on the sea bed to carry out repairs to lines containing hydraulic, electrical or complex flowlines.
The project will define and design the habitat. It will define its operating technique and working environment. The build and operating costs will be produced.
