Objective
The CAR-NET system manages the car-pooling in an optimal way and provides higher vehicle occupancy and consequently lower vehicle density on the roads, fuel saving and less air pollution. Information, registration, accounting, optimal routing, etc. are realised via telecoms (telephone, terminals, ..), computers, etc., based on postal codes as locations. Similar projects are going on in Zurich, Paris (part of 'DRIVE'), Antwerpen. Proposal includes: telecom systems, terminals mainframes, software and 9000 poolers will participate. Incorrect payback calculations. Resubmission of prop. TR./00473/91/NL.
