Objectif
The aim of the project is to achieve a software allowing to help the control of energy consumption of transports in town by automatic evaluation of modifications caused by urban and transport projects.
For each operation, the software will evaluate the consumption variations caused by the increasing of decreasing of motor travellings, the improvement or damaging of traffic conditions, the transfers between different means of transport (individual or public). These consumption variations will be translated into pollution and noise level in the streets and the districts.
The software which will help town councils to make a choice will be made of the three following parts:
- Several knowledges bases which will form the long-term memory of the system. In this part, we can find all the knowledge with permanent facts typical to the town (roads, ways of the lanes, traffic, ground geography, urban development), the know-how with the exploitation of calculation models and the expert evaluation to solve problems.
- A basis of facts which will be the specific data of the problems to resolve. The work memory will be completed with new discovered by the reasoning mecanism.
- Interpreters which will be used to exploit knowledge and facts to manage a meaning. The development cycle of the software can be divided into the four following parts:
- Adjustment of calculation and expert models using the knowledge of C.E.T.E. de l'Est relative to fuel consumption of vehicles in town, mobility generated by urbanism operations, traffic and transport conditions, pollution and noise generated by traffic and transport conditions.
- Software development with integration of calculation and expert models. At this point of the final product will be introduced as a whole. In fact, to achieve its work, the system will have to be integrated to the environment including many calculation softwares, processus controls, data processing drawing and data base.
- Software adjustment with the locking of different calculation models on real situations. In this part, we must establish knowledge bases specific to the town (roads, lane ways slope, curvature of the roads, traffic, urban development).
- Software test and validation will be made together with town planning and transport studies. The different calculation and analysis models will be checked and studied in the town with measure instruments (analyser, sound controler and other electronic equipment) and technical vehicles counting.
