TELEMATICS APPLICATIONS IN BAVARIA, SCOTLAND AND OTHERS

Objective

TABASCO will evaluate information and control systems in Bavaria, Scotland and elsewhere with the aim of improving the transport conditions of urban areas. Systems to be demonstrated involve variable message signs for motorists, real-time public transport information, park-and-ride information for private car users who continue their inner city trip by public transport, traffic incidents warning on motorways, and other applications. The overall objective is to improve the coordination of urban and interurban traffic control systems, and enhance the quality of traveller service provision.
