Objective
Electronic data interchange is among the tools used by WISDOM in a network for the sharing of freight transport-related information by operators and their business partners, to improve the speed and reliability of deliveries. Investment costs in the system will be low and users will be able to communicate confidentially to partners within it. The project will progress from the bottom up to develop key functions close to basic operations, later integrating them into a common system. The partners can plan jointly the transport flow, preventing vessels and other equipment being kept idle, and thereby make optimum use of their resources.
