TELEMATICS APPLICATION TO CREATE ALTERNATIVE MARKETING CHANNELS FOR SMES IN URBAN AND RURAL AREAS

Objective

TAMCRA support efforts by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to trade beyond their locality, often in the face of prohibitive marketing campaign costs. The project will explore how telematics may provide them with novel ways of publicising their products across the EU, in order to compete globally while increasing prosperity at their own regional base. TAMCRA will initially study the techno-economic viability of such strategies through an examination of user requirements and specifications in four different sectors. The project completed, the subsequent aim is then to develop a prototype for possible exploitation.
