Objective
The project aims at optimizing a 450 kW wind turbine for low wind regimes in mountain areas, under extreme climatic conditions. The innovative parts of the concept are:
- Rotor designed for the low wind regime
- Variable speed
- Improved converter system
- Special control system
- Use of ultra-sonic wind measurement equipment. The design as a whole can be considered innovative, even though many of the features, are well known from other concepts.
