Education and training

Objective

Creating an environment for aggressive energy efficiency improvements, especially in terms of district heating through rational energy utilization by use of combined heat and power, surplus energy and change of control and regulation measures.
Greater awareness of the importance of an up-to-date education of senior staff members in D.H.-enterprises.
The Danish Institute of Environmental Energy has previously completed similar energy efficiency education and training programmes with participants from Poland, Czechoslovakia and Hungary. The impact of these projects have meant greater awareness with the participants of the importance of energy efficiency and the implementation of energy saving measures and it is assessed that the concept introduced to these states and the experience achieved can be of benefit to other Member States as well.
Further development and update of previous course programme for district heating enterprise managers and holding of 3-week course for selected key persons.
The actual education and training course is prepared for dissemination in all Member States.
Education and training will partly take place in Denmark, organized by the Danish Institute of Environmental Energy in cooperation with a number of Danish enterprises, and partly in the laboratories of the German Fernwarme-Forschungsinstitut in Hannover.
The training programme will embrace the following subjects:
- Organisation and Management
- Combined Heat and Power
- Alternative Fuels, including Biowaste
- Energy Saving in District Heating Plants
- Control and Regulation
- Individual Temperature Control
- Rates and Tariffs
- Tests and Checkouts.
