Objective
The aim of the project is, during a period of 26 weeks up to the introduction of the EC's energy-labelling scheme, to test a number of communication elements in 31 Danish stores dealing with white goods.
The project will give greater knowledge about :
- Barriers present in connection with implementation of the EC's energy-labelling in retail trade.
- Problems which occur when the sales staff must use energy-labelling actively in their daily work.
- The consumers' reaction to the EC's energy-labelling.
- How the EC's energy-labelling can be launched with the greatest possible effect.
The project will :
- Test the EC's energy-labelling scheme for refrigerators and freezers in practice.
- Train the sales personnel in the 31 stores, to enable them, in a convincing manner, to argue for the significance of energy consumption - both from a narrow consideration of private economy as well as from a wider environmental context.
- Equip the sales personnel with facilities which can be used when the EC's energy-labelling of white goods is to be used as an active sales tool.
- Identify problems regarding the practical use of the EC's energy-labelling as regards sales personnel and the consumers.
- Evaluate the effect of the means used and their composition.
- Place the experiences gained from the project at the disposal of relevant organisations in all EC member countries.
