Advertising Campaign on Rational Use of Energy for the General Public

Objective

The TV and newspaper campaigns focus on current daily situation in the areas of transport or house/office, showing consumers how they are supposed to act for an efficient energy use.
After the execution of the campaign started in 1992, whose main goal has been to create awareness for the energy issue and the need to use it in a rational way, it is expected that the this campaign will make the general public even more knowledgeable about this issue.
It is expected that not only general attitude towards energy saving is reinforced but habits and behaviour do change in the cases shown on the two TV spots and press ads.
In Portugal an advertising campaign has been launched forth quarter of in the last years (1992) creating awareness for the need of using energy in a rational way in the industry, transports and at home. This campaign has been prepared and managed by CCE in close cooperation with the national energy authorities, in particular the General Directorate for
Energy. A new TV campaign showing how to use energy rationally in chosen situations is the logic follow-up for the work done so far in 1992 and early 1993. The proposed campaign will be built around 2 TV spots of 25 to 30 seconds. Newspapers will also be used as a secondary media and two ads will be produced.
