Objective
to provide an overall strategy for undergraduate education in environmental and energy related topics across construction disciplines.
1) interdisciplinary syllabus
2) a spreadsheet of how the syllabus will be integrated into courses within co-operating institutions
3) a summary of how the syllabus relates to the core syllabuses of the participating professional bodies and the degree of information depth appropriate to the respective professional courses.
The project will include identifying institutions which offer sufficient relevant courses to provide the critical mass for interdisciplinary education within the realm of environment and energy efficiency in buildings. In some cases this would be achieved through co-institutional collaboration. There would be preliminary contact with such institutions to gain their co-operation and the provision of relevant course documents.
The task is then to see how much this subject area features in courses and to highlight examples where interdisciplinary collaboration already exists. The most promising institutions are likely to be those which offer both architectural and building services engineering courses. The enquiry will also embrace Sweden via the Technical University of Lund.
