Objective
To promote RUE in the mechanical industry to the SME.
EXPECTED RESULTS
- setting up an energy-unit for the mechanical industries of Rhône-Alpes region (20% of the French mechanical industry);
- carrying out of 20 energy audits ;
- increased awareness for energy savings, CHP and subsequently for a reduction of CO2 emissions.
- intervention in a SME industrial network.
The Rhone-Alpes region is characterised by a big industrial sector, i.e. the mechanical sector ; it is about 1,900 firms and mainly SME. The energy consumption of these factories are high in absolute value but are small in relative value ( 3% of their turnover). Actions have been carried out in the past trough information meetings but only few concrete results came out.
Within the framework of a pool of means at regional and national levels (Rhonalpenergie and Ademe) with the CETIM ( Centre Technique des Industries Mécaniques ) we suggest to promote the energy efficiency in this industrial sector.
An energy technical unit is set up .It's a pole of competence which operates under the aegis of a work group gathering the above partners ; it promotes energy efficiency in the mechanical industry in Rhone Alpes by means of a campaign of energy saving audits (20 studies).
The longevity of the unit will allow to carry on the action over the next few years.
