Objective
This project is designed to promote energy saving in the construction sector and intends to ensure that society in general, and users in particular, are guaranteed building construction quality where energy is concerned.
Plans for a quality stamp for the construction sector.
The stamp will not be awarded to those buildings that merely comply with the minimum requirements demanded by current legislation.
The project is a joint initiative involving CADEM (EVE Group) and the Basque Government Department for Housing, Town Planning and the Environment - the competent administrative authority in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country - and is designed to promote energy saving in the construction sector.
- To reduce the energy bill for residential buildings by taking certain features into account both in the project phase and in contruction.
- To improve the energy saving with better-designed lighting and heating systems for buildings.
- The avoid the over-frequent appearance of energy-related problems, such as condensation on doors and windows.
The current Spanish Norm, NBE-CT-79, sets only minimum thermal insulation requirements for outside walls of buildings.
Now, however, the following conditions must be complied with before an Energy-Efficient Housing Certificate can be issued:
1) The KG value of the building must be less than the maximum KG value required by Spanish Norm NBE-CT-79;
2) The building's total annual energy consumption must be less than 82% of the total consumption of a reference building that complies strictly with the current regulation.
