Objective
To implement DSM Pilot Projects on Residential and Commercial Sectors in order to quantify the real Market potential taking into account the effect of Consumer Behaviour (Consumer decission criteria: economical and non economical) and the practical difficulties which appear during the implementation.
* To obtain data, based on real experience, about : DSM programs costs, incentive methods which best suit Customer Behaviour and Criteria and influence of the Non Economical Barriers (aesthetics, etc.).
* To acquire practical experience about the real difficulties to implement DSM Marketing Programs.
* To obtain Demonstration Installations to be used in the future to promote and spread these DSM options in the market.
Residential Sector: High Efficiency Lighting (Compact Fluorescent Lamps) applied to a sample of 200 homes. The CF lamps will be free for the customers : after a test period of 3 months using the CFL, three alternatives will be presented to the customer who wishes to continue using the CFL's: Direct payment with a 10% reduction or 12 or 14 month loans, based on third party financing by Iberdrola.
Commercial Sector: High Efficiency Lighting applied to a sample of 200 small businesses (shops, bars, etc.). Similar to the Residential project.
Commercial Sector: Variable Speed Drivers (VSD), in HVAC in 2 existing (not new) big commercial buildings (offices). Detailed measurements will be taken for 1 year to determine the improvement in energy efficiency achieved with VSD applied on existent HVAC systems. After the test period, providing that the advantages of VSD have been demonstrated, two alternatives will be offered to the clients to purchase the VSD equipment : Direct payment with a 10% reduction or third party financing.
