Objective
The main goal of the project is to alleviate existing barriers and to promote a wide implementation of Monitoring & Targeting (M&T) in the Food and Beverage (F&B) sector in Greece and Spain.
A pilot implementation of M&T will be applied in YIOTIS S.A. a major Greek food industry to produce tangible results that will enhance and support the information dissemination activities that are foreseen in the project.
The project, by promoting implementation of M&T in one of the most important industrial sectors in Greece, is also in line with the goals of the Community Support Framework for the Greek Energy sector. The project results will be also valuable to the Greek Ministry of Development to elaborate specific measures targeting a more wide range of industrial sectors in Greece.
The main targets to be fulfilled so as to achieve the project goal are:
- to examine, evaluate and provide outlets for the difficulties that the implementation of M&T involves
- to implement a pilot case study that will produce tangible results
- to build cohesive and applicable Action Plan including all necessary instructions, that may be used as a step-by-step guide for future actions
- to disseminate the accumulated experience gained over the years from the establishment of M&T systems in almost all industrial sectors, and especially in the F&B sector
- to communicate the principles of M&T to the executives of the F&B sector and to provide concrete 'how to do' guides.
. to positively contribute to a major endeavour aiming at supporting the idea that energy cost can be firmly controlled by using energy with greater efficiency and that prompt and tangible results can be obtained by means of simple managerial techniques and low cost interventions.
