Steps for the energy optimization in public schools

Objective

The aim of this project is to reduce the energy costs in fifty educational centres by working in the save energy awareness of the users and planning their rehabilitation.
Another aim is toi define the minimum energy criteria for the new constructions.

Action 1: Training of mainetnece personnel and improving awareness of students, teachers and other users. Each partner will train about 50 responsible for maintenance with different tools, and will organize an awareness campaign in 50 schools. A final document about the efficiency of the different initiatives will be prepared with recommendations for future campaigns.
Action 2: To define a strategy of rehabilitation. The result will be for the public management actor that will cover improvements (high-frequency ballasts, compact fluorescent fittings, heating regulations,..) with a pay back period lower than 3 years for the 50 schools.
Action 3: To define a minimum eneregy criteria as an additional specifications sheet for the new buildings. Elaboration of a document with recommendations about efficient technologies and cosntruction characteristics that must cover a new building. The document, for the public administration in chrage of the new constructions, will be used as an additional specifications sheet in the competition and construction of new buildings.
