Energy efficiency and performance of swimming pools

Objective

The aim of the project is to reduce energy use and environmental costs of swimming pools (sport complexes) by ensuring a correct functioning of the total system. A method (tool) wil be developed for fault detection and diagnosis (FFD-tool). This tool will form an addition to the building management system and must evaluate the functioning of the various installation components real time, incorrect functioning and predict possible causes and actions to be taken.

In swimming pools nowadays 'modern' installations (combinations of installations0 are used, such as: total energy installations, heat pumps, solar appliances, etc. Due to the complexity of these installations and interaction between them, maintenance engineers or supervisors no longer have a good overall view of the installation. They are often unable to detect incorrect functioning and (in case of dectection) the needed actians are are hard to predict. In practice this leads to incorrect or not optimal functioning, resulting in an unneccessary high energy sonsumption.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
