Instrument éducatif multimédia sur les systèmes de gestion, énergétique des bâtiments

Objective

A recent french study has shown that, though energy management is considered as essential by building owners, its implementation is often far from being optimum. Besides, many building owners, willing to install Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) in their own buildings, express a lack of comparative tools at their disposal for a rational selection of appropriate materials.
The purpose of the project MEDIABEMS is thus to develop an interactive software for the promotion of optimum implementation and use of BEMS. This tool aims at offering valuable information on BEMS. It will also include examples and utilities for a better understanding of BEMS capabilities and impact on energy, economic and environmental management. In addition, it will be a powerful tool for assisting building contractors in selecting appropriate material for their specific needs.

The targeted audience is architects, engineers, students, building managers as well as contractors and any professional involved in the building design process.
The main product developed in this project will be a CD-ROM. This medium has been selected since it provides flexibility and allows a user to follow guided learning or to focus on any subject presented in the CD-ROM. It will thus be appropriate for initial education as well as for professional. The CD-ROM architecture will offer different teaching levels. The field will be covered using three distinct parts (in their content and approach) :
. The first part will be dedicated to describing fundamentals and basics on different subjects : building physics (comfort, energy, architecture, ...) control and energy management principles (control techniques, energy management techniques, BEMS architecture and components, ...) and financial management (finance analysis, cost benefit assessment, ...)
. The second part will deal with BEMS applications. It will first include studies whose aim are to present real applications, provide order of magnitudes (energy consumption, ...) compare situations and provide sensibility analysis based on dynamic simulations. A second part of this tool will describe macroscopic and microscopic impacts of various BEMS strategies in energy, economic and environmental terms. A last part will propose guidance for developing BEMS specifications.
. The third and last part will be dedicated to 'tools and utilities'.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
