DETECTION OF DEEP CONDUCTORS AROUND DRILLHOLES USING DC AND EM METHODS

THE OBJECTIVE OF THE RESEARCH IS TO DETECT CONDUCTIVE DEEP SEATED ORE BODIES BY THE COMBINATION OF DIFFERENT LOGGING AND HOLE-TO-HOLE AND HOLE-TO-SURFACE TECHNIQUES.

IN ORDER TO OBTAIN MORE INFORMATION ON PHYSICAL ROCK PROPERTIES AROUND BOREHOLESAND TO INCREASE DETECTION CAPABILITIES OF DEEP SEATED CONDUCTIVE ORE BODIES HOLE-TO-HOLE AND HOLE-TO-SURFACE TECHNIQUES WILL BE INVESTIGATED. USING MAINLY DC CURRENT AND NATURAL EM (AUDIO FREQUENCY RANGE) SOURCES EMPHASIS IS GIVEN TO
RESISTIVITY METHODS
INDUCED POLARIZATION AND
TELLURIC FIELD LOGGING.

FIELD EXPERIMENTS CARRIED OUT OVER WELL KNOWN ORE DEPOSITS OF THE MASSIF ARMORICAIN ARE BEING COMPARED WITH RESULTS OBTAINED FROM SCALED DOWN MODEL STUDIES. FURTHERMORE, THEORETICAL RESEARCH IN ANALOGICAL AND NUMERICAL MODELLING OF TWO AND THREE DIMENSIONAL STRUCTURES WILL BE DONE.
