Project description
Innovative materials modelling software and devices
The instrumental role played by silicon in information and communication technologies has made the United States and China world leaders in their development and production. Big Data, machine learning and quantum computing are making it possible for the European industry to shift away from the all-silicon platform and rapidly develop new technologies based on innovative materials and appliances. The EU-funded INTERSECT project will support European leadership in materials modelling software and infrastructure. It will provide industry-ready integrated solutions entirely adaptable to the vision of semantic interoperability moved by standardised ontologies. To lead the return of materials modelling software in the industry, INTERSECT will connect scientific innovation with advanced industrial innovative production and accelerate the process of material selection.
