The SPRINT Science Park Consultancy Scheme was launched through two calls for expressions of interest in 1991 to improve the market-orientated definition, planning and chances for success of future science, research or technology parks or business and innovation centre projects. The Commission now invites proposals from local, regional or national bodies planning, starting or furthering the development of a science park or a similar investment. Financial support will be provided to a limited number of such bodies wanting to have access to a panel of independent experts who would advise them on the main features of their proposed development. The list of experts drawn up by the Commission will be circulated to successful applicants who can then select any expert within the limits drawn in their application package. Financial support will cover 50% (up to 75% in regions lagging in development or of industrial decline) of the costs of the panel's consultancy assignment, up to a maximum Commission contributiion of ECU 60,000 per assignment. An applications package may be obtained from: Commission of the European Communities SPRINT - Science Park Consultancy Scheme Directorate-General for Telecommunications, Information Industries and Innovation DG XIII/C/4 L-2920 Luxembourg
