The European Commission, DG XXII, has published an invitation to tender concerning the promotion of the use of interactive media in the fields of education and training, discovery and knowledge through the organization of "Netd@ys Europe 1999". This tender is aimed at making a detailed evaluation of results from Netd@ys Europe 1998, and the submission of appropriate recommendations to repeat the experience in 1999 on a wider basis (life-long education and culture). It will also involve supplying the Commission with all the technical assistance necessary for defining and implementing a full communication plan, which will be based on close partnership with organizations in the public and private sectors. The services to be provided will also include the development of a Netd@ys Website, together with a range of information and communication services to prepare and organize events throughout Europe. Finally, a report should be drawn up on the basis of experience acquired during the Netd@ys, with specific recommendations to accelerate the use of new educational media. The contract will run for 12 months.
