The European Commission, DG XI, has published an invitation to tender relating to the preparation of guidelines for the practical implementation of Directive 98/8/EC concerning the placing of biocidal products on the market. The study will cover the following objectives: - Guidelines for the preparation and presentation of complete dossiers and of summary dossiers for active substances and relevant biocidal products, to be submitted by applicants wishing to have active substances included in Annex I, IA or IB of the Directive, biocidal products authorised or registered and for the establishment of maximum residue limits (MRLs); - Guidelines for the preparation and presentation of reports by the competent authorities in Member States, relating to the evaluation of active substances, the authorisation or registration of biocidal products and the establishment of maximum residue limits.
