The "CORDIS Ireland R&D Information Service" will be launched officially on 15 September 1998 in Dublin, by Noel Tracey, Ireland's Minister for Science, Technology and Commerce. Providing information on all aspects of EU-supported R&D and innovation in Ireland, the new Web service is the second of CORDIS' Member State services to be launched. Further services are due to be launched in the next few months with the aim to have individual services up and running for all 15 EU Member States in time for the start of the Fifth Framework Programme. The CORDIS Ireland R&D Information Service has been developed to provide Irish companies, businesses and educational establishments with a wide range of information on R&D developments and activities at European level. It will include information in the following sections: - R&D news and policy; - Information on participation possibilities in the Fifth Framework Programme; - Contacts for all research areas covered by the Fifth Framework Programme and other R&D and innovation support programmes; - Details of Irish participation in EU R&D programmes and activities.
