For organisations and companies interested in methodologies promoting innovation practices to enhance business competitiveness, the European Commission, DG XIII, has issued a paper presenting the first series of studies carried out under the Innovation Management Techniques (IMT) projects of the Innovation Programme. These studies aimed to disseminate and exploit results achieved by selected projects, taking stock of interesting examples of practices promoting these techniques to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). They provide a clear, comprehensive reference for interested organisations and companies. The IMT action line has, since 1997, been promoting relevant methodologies ,including: - Diagnosis of innovation profile; - Technology and competitive watch; - Business process reengineering; - Project management and development; - Product design and development; - Benchmarking; - Marketing of innovation; - Total quality management; - Creative tools; - Value analysis. This first paper includes the following studies and will be updated in due course: - Transnational Innovation Pilot Programme in SMEs - TIPPS; - L'INNOVATION - Pratiques et mode opératoires; - Methodological Guidelines in Technology Management Toolkit - TEMAGUIDE; - Design Engineering Tools and Techniques - DENTOT; - innovation Management Techniques in Operation - Building Competitive Skills in SMEs; - Integrating Design into R&D.
