DG III commissions study of precursors to illicit drugs
The European Commission, Directorate General III, has announced an open call for tender relating to the study of chemical precursors to illicit drugs. The study will aim to determine the chemical precursors entering into the production of the most frequently encountered illicit synthetic drugs. The study will involve: - Drawing up, with the aid of a diagram, the crucial stages for the synthesis; - Identifying the synthetic narcotics and psychotropic drugs that can be obtained from each precursor by indicating the derivation links; - Visualizing the whole process in the form of a computer diagram summing up the progression and successive stages. The time limit for completing the study is 12 months after the date on which the contract is signed. In principle, the contract will not be awarded if the economically most advantageous tender exceeds the value of 85,000 euro.
