The Commission of the European Communities calls for proposals for research and technology development projects in the context of the specific RTD programme in the field of biomedicine and health (1990-1994). The call covers Area 3 of the workprogramme: Area 3. Human Genome Analysis: - 3.1. Improvement of the genetic (linkage) map. - 3.2. Physical mapping. - 3.3. SDNA sequencing. - 3.4. Data-handling and databases. - 3.5. Technology development and applications for human genome analysis. Research areas and topics will be addressed, in general, via shared-cost research and technology development projects and concerted actions (the Community's contribution to shared-cost projects will not normally not exceed 50% of the total costs. In the case of universities and similar institutions, the Community may bear up to 100% of the additional costs). Project proposals may be submitted to the Commission by interested legal research entities (research institutions, universities and enterprises) which are located in the Community or, under certain special conditions, in other countries. Each project must include at least two mutually independent partners established in different Member States. An information package concerning submission of proposals plus background material is available from: Commission of the European Communities DG XII/F-6 75 rue Montoyer reference: Second call for proposals, Biomedical and Health Research (Area 3, Human Genome Analysis) B-1040 Brussels Tel. +32-2-2953582/-2953210; Fax +32-2-2955365
