Overcoming obstacles in the internal market for rail mass-transit system
A study pinpointing the obstacles to the completion of the internal market for rail mass-transit systems is the subject of an invitation to tender from the European Commission, DG III. The study should analyse the nature and reasons for the current fragmentation of the internal market for rail mass-transit systems in Europe, in particular evaluating to what extent regulations and product certification procedures are diverging. Appropriate actions to overcome market fragmentation should be put forward by the contractor, based on an assessment of the economic impacts of the existence of diverging requirements.
