The European Commission's Information, Communication and Multimedia Directorate of the Competition Directorate-General, has decided to launch a call for expression of interest from experts to provide technical assistance in certain areas in the field of information technology (software), intellectual property rights and competition policy. The call is intended to build up, after a selection process, a list of potential contractors who will subsequently be invited to submit tenders for specific tasks to be defined by the Competition DG in their fields of expertise. Due to the highly sensitive commercial nature of these investigations, contractors will be required to sign confidentiality clauses and declarations of conflicts of interest for specific work tasks. Those included on the list of experts may be called on in the future to assist in its cases in the following areas: - Software technologies; - Technical aspects of intellectual property rights relating to software; - Competition policy relating to the information technology industry; - All related relevant areas. Candidates wishing to present their details in this file must ensure their submission complies fully with the criteria set out in the official call text, available from the Official Journal of the European Communities at the reference below.
