A study on the conditions of admission for foreign researchers in Europe is the subject of a tender invitation issued by the Research Directorate-General within the framework of the 'Confirming the International Role of Community Research' programme. The aim of the study is to establish a list, by host country (comprising the 15 Member States and 17 associated countries in the Fifth Framework programme), of material and administrative admission conditions for researchers from non-Community countries. The host countries involved are as follows: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, Greece, France, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Israel, Ireland, Iceland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, and Slovenia. The countries of origin affected are as follows: Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, South Korea, Egypt, United States, Indonesia, India, Japan, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Morocco, Mexico, New Zealand, Palestine, Philippines, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Syria, Thailand, Turkey, Taiwan, Tunisia, Ukraine, and Venezuela.
