More to Life with CORDIS focus
CORDIS focus has produced a special edition 'RTD results supplement', showcasing the results of projects linked to the European Commission's Quality of Life Programme and funded under the Fourth RTD Framework Programme. Nearly 60 'offers' are described in the supplement in short, illustrated features on selected results submitted to CORDIS from projects within the Framework Programmes. 'The offers in this special edition of the CORDIS focus RTD-Results Supplement celebrate the innovative products of research in the area of life sciences, which includes farming and agriculture as well as biomedicine and biotechnology,' explains the Commission. The publication and companion database on CORDIS aim to promote the dissemination of research results to help researchers find appropriate partners and encourage the exploitation of their work through innovation. Some 60 projects are showcased in the supplement, stemming from work initiated through the BIOMED, BIOTECH and FAIR programmes. The projects themselves have recently been completed or are currently in their final phase. 'In any case they have something to offer to the appropriate user of knowledge or technology, whether it be a large or small enterprise, a regulatory body or an academic researcher,' says Bruno Hansen, Director of the Life Sciences unit in the Research Directorate-General.
