The Energy globe award 2001 is up for grabs. This international award for the world's best sustainable energy solutions in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources is open to companies, public and private organisations and individuals from all over the world. The award is given to showcase and honour the best projects in these fields, say the organisers, O.Ö.Energiesparverband in Austria. This is the second time the prize has been offered, with the Energy Globe award 2000 attracting around 1000 entries from 72 countries and more than 1400 participants. The energy globe awards 2001 will be celebrated at an awards ceremony on 28 February 2001 in Linz, Austria. The best projects will also be presented within the framework of the 'International world sustainable energy day, and 'Energiesparmesse' exhibition which will be held form 1 to 4 March in Wels, Austria. Anyone interested in submitting their projects on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources for the 'Energy globe award 2001' should ensure their entries are submitted by 20 October 2000. The awards will be presented in five categories - housing, companies, transport, municipalities, public institutions and other, with a prize money of 10,000 euro in each category. The project or initiative should either involve energy efficiency or renewable energy sources - or a combination of both. The project submission should include a short summary and description of the project, a contact person, pictures or other documentation and should be sent to O.Ö. Energiesparverband.
