Council extends funding for Europe against cancer action plan
The Council and the Ministers for Health meeting within the Council on 27.5.1993 adopted in the context of the "Europe against Cancer" programme a Decision (93/362/EEC) raising the overall Community contribution estimated necessary for the programme's 1990-1994 action plan from ECU 50 million to ECU 55 million. The Council, having regard to a report submitted by the Commission on the evaluation of the effectiveness of action undertaken in "Europe against Cancer" (1987-1992), without prejudice to the planned evaluation of the action on the basis of that report, considers it advisable to continue that action until the conclusion of the current action plan. It is therefore considered advisable to provide sufficient funds for the 1994 financial year in order to maintain an activity comparable in size and nature to that conducted during previous years.
