The Joint Research Centre (JRC) has invited tenders to support the JRC Ispra in a Europe-wide evaluation of existing databases for trace elements (heavy metals) and organic matter content in soils for different land uses in all Member States in the EU. The main objectives of the study should be to: - compile spatial information about trace elements (cadmium, copper, lead, mercury, nickel, zinc and chromium) and organic matter contents in European soils for regions with sufficient data available - identify areas/regions with data gaps - elaborate recommendations for further action in terms of additional sampling, digestion and analyses - produce a final version of the present situation of trace elements and organic matter in all 15 Member States.Tenders should be sent to: European Commission Joint Research Centre Via Fermi 1 I-21020 Ispra (VA).
